In the early days of February, our team broke ground on a new trade school for the community of Bubanza. The school would be a tangible means of offering training and hope for this community of Burundian friends.
The project created 60 jobs in the community. Our friends could find work right in their own neighborhood, building the future with their own hands. Some got on the job training as they participated in the construction of this school – so the learning has already begun!
This week we mark some progress. Foundations are poured, walls are up and now the roof is in place. In these classrooms people will come to learn how to build things, grow things, make things and fix things. The will also learn what hope feels like.
A trade school is coming to Bubanza. And the cornerstone for the curriculum will be HOPE.
